Fixing the Resolution Setting

I don't like it that OS X and Windows let users choose a resolution that's lesser than the LCD's, forcing it to be scaled, thereby guaranteeing blur. This happens because the OS renders the desktop at the chosen resolution, and then scales the bitmap to the native resolution. This is a stupid way of doing things.

Instead just render the desktop at the native resolution. And provide an OS-wide minimum font size setting. That should be enough. Users shouldn't need to scale user interface elements up or down any more than they should need to change the background color of toolbars. Leave it to the developer to design their UI, and just let users specify a minimum font size.

Thankfully, Android and iOS do not suffer from the above form of insanity.
